I thought it fitting to start my brand new blog post with pics from our very first bridal photo shoot going back to September of 2013.
Earlier that month I received an email from Debbie Lourens, one of Cape Town's most talented wedding photographers, asking if I would like to do a collaboration where we could do a feature on full figure brides for her blog post. And yes, of course I was interested.
I had to arrange the wedding dress and Debbie would organize the rest, and what a brilliant photo shoot it turned out to be.
What a beautiful couple Carmen and Karlu proved to be.......already married for 2 years at the time of the shoot . Just the perfect couple to model for the shoot - clearly so in love.

That Saturday morning started out as one would expect for a typical spring morning in Cape Town.....showers of blessings. Unperturbed we pushed on and headed off to the Magic Forest in Durbanville, hoping that the rain would stop. And right enough, it did. The skies cleared but remained slightly overcast, perfect conditions for our photo shoot.
Love....Happiness....and more love....

The underdress is in satin with a Chantilly lace overlay and hand beaded detail on the bodice.
This gown has no petticoats, making it light and easy to wear - perfect for a spring wedding.

So we are all ready and set to go and as Murphy's law would have it, the make-up and hair artist is sick that morning. But no worries ... and certainly no panic because Debbie jumps in right there and does her magic with Carmen's hair and make-up. She achieves the overall effect she wants for the shoot which is a casual spring look with a simple hair braid and no veil. A natural day make-up look is achieved.... and yes, you guessed it , the flowers are all thanks to Debbie as well.
All in all....... a wonderful, fun filled Spring shoot.
